If you keep your exposure under half a second, you get more than just sharp leaves and branches. If someone accidentally walks into your long-exposure shot, you can actually use that to your advantage—they’re less likely to blur, so you can include them without ruining the photo.

I was really happy with how this shot turned out. The gentleman in the frame balances out the waterfall and changes the feel of the whole composition. It pulls some attention away from the waterfall and adds a new layer of interest—turning what could’ve been a pretty plain, predictable photo into something more lively and engaging.
